Overview:
This 4-week course teaches students to use common idioms effectively in everyday conversations. Each week introduces 4 idioms, dictation activities, and practical conversation practice.

Week 1: Icebreakers and Introductions

Learn 5 common idioms.  Use them in high interest conversations and improve your comprehension and fluency while having fun.  There will be conversations, activities and quick dictation exercises to improve your writing.

Week 2: Expressing Emotions

Practice your pronunciation and conversation skills by learning new idioms about emotions.  We will share short stories and situations where you can share with others.  There will be dictation practice and activities to reinforce what we are learning.  Get ready to share and learn!

Week 3: Handling Challenges

Let’s talk about challenges we face with new idioms.  English isn’t the only challenge we will talk about.   Learn how to express yourself and have fun while talking about challenges we face in everyday life.  DIctation, mix and match activities to help you build confidence.

Week 4: Decisions and Taking Action

Do you think outside the box?  Are you someone who strikes while the iron is hot?  Well then this class is for you!  We are going to role-play, give advice and demonstrate how, “actions speak louder than words.”  Not exactly sure what I am talking about?  Well then you definitely want to come to this class!

Week 5:  Let’s Show What We Know!

Wrap up the course with week 5 activities and presentations.  We will have a friendly competition around idioms.  We will recap all the idioms we learned and students will have a chance to show what they know!  Come on!  You don’t want to miss class #5!
